What is included in the daily price?

The daily price includes a free daily mileage allowance of 50mi (US) or 50km (EU & UK), liability protection with €2000 excess hold, keyless access and 24/7 pickup or dropoff, charging guidance, & 24/7 live chat with our customer support team. Extra mileage, enhanced insurance options, and additional drivers can be added for an additional cost.

Will someone assist me if I need help?

Yes our support team are available 24/7. You can contact them by sending a message on the app chat via the ? icon and our team will be happy to assist you.

Where do I return my car?

The return instructions on the app will show you how and where to return your car

Where do I book a car with UFODRIVE?

Go to our Booking' section or book a car via the UFODRIVE app.

Where do I find superchargers?

The car navigation system directs you to all charging options available or use the UFODRIVE app to find the best charging closest to you..

When do I know that my booking is complete?

You will see a confirmation screen on your desktop or phone and an email notification when your booking has been confirmed.

What is the smoking policy?

Smoking is forbidden in UFODRIVE cars.

What methods of payment are accepted?

We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, etc). Credit cards are preferred but debit cards may be accepted depending on provider. The excess amount applicable to your rental must be available on your card at the start of the rental.

What's the registration process?

The registration process guides you via the app to upload copies of your ID document and driver license. This has to be completed before you can pick up your car.

What is the range of my car?

Range depends on the model selected. In general, our minimum range vehicles are 200 miles/320kms. Note also that this range will vary in relation to driving style and outside temperature

What is VAT?

VAT (or TVA) is the Value Added Tax required to be paid on all sorts of service and goods. It is included in the price of your rental.

What is the story of UFODRIVE?

Following another particularly poor customer experience at a major European Airport involving a long queue at the car rental booth, confusing insurance and extras options, pushy sales reps, a slow paper-based process and then trying to find the car, which wasn’t the model ordered, Aidan McClean decided there was going to be a better way! What is the minimum driver age?

The minimum driver age depends on the country where the travel takes place. In most places, the minimum age is 26 years old.

What happens if I exceed the legal speed limit?

Legal and national speed limits and general traffic rules apply at all times. It is your obligation to drive carefully and observe all speed limits. If we notice repeated excessive speeding, your UFODRIVE account could be suspended/revoked. Any speeding fines incurred plus an administration fee will be charged back to you.

What is the cancellation policy?

We offer free cancellation up to 48 hours before the rental begins. Cancellations or modifications less than 48 hours before your rental begins are not eligible for a refund. Bookings made within 48 hours of rental start time are not eligible for refund. There is a grace period for all bookings if canceled within 15 minutes of the booking being made.

What happens if I exceed the mileage I booked?

Additional mileage is charged at 20 cents/pence per unit and will be included on your final invoice.

What if I'm delayed or want to extend?

If you need to extend your rental, you can do so from the app as long as there is availability. If you're delayed and want to notify a late return please advise us via the live chat in the app.

What if I have an international Driver's license?

You must be eligible to drive in the country in which you are renting. Please research the local rules for international drivers licenses before making your booking or  contact us if you need additional help.

What happens if I don't use all the mileage I paid for?

We do not refund for unused mileage. Prepaid mileage is offered at a discount, so it's recommended to estimate mileage as best as you can when booking.

What happens after registration?

Your scanned documents will be verified and any missing documents will be requested from you by email. Once complete, your driver account will be validated and you'll be ready to drive

What are the different available electric cars?

Availability of EV types varies depending on the location. You can see our full fleet here.

What does the included insurance cover?

You will see what insurance options and the included coverage is available during your booking process. We offer options for everyone.

What does free refueling mean?

Recharging of your car is already included in the price and mileage amount selected.

What charging networks can I use?

The network is constantly evolving. We provide charging cards compatible with most of the available chargers in the country in which you are renting. Use the app to navigate to the best available charger whenever needed.

What are the design & performance features of the electric vehicles in the UFODRIVE fleet?

What is the minimum electric charge level when returning?

You can return your EV rental without recharging it, but we ask that you return with at least 10% charge.

Is there a way to reduce the insurance excess?

Yes, it's possible to reduce or remove the insurance excess by optiming into a higher protection plan. The options are clearly laid out in the booking process

How do I charge my car?

You can easily charge your car at thousands of charge points in the UK, US, & EU. For example, for Tesla, you can use the Tesla SuperCharger network for fast charging up to 80% Battery in 20mins! You can also use or use other public and private charging networks. Use the UFODRIVE app to navigate to the best charging solution nearest you.

Does my additional driver also have to meet the minimum age requirement?

Yes.

How do I modify my reservation?

You can modify it directly from our app by clicking the 'Amend' button on an existing booking from the main dashboard.

For which smartphones is the app available?

The app is both available for both Android and apple devices.

Does UFODRIVE offer child seats?

UFODDRIVE can provide car seats, included in most markets or as a referral to a 3rd party service in the US. Please send a message to chat support at least 5 days before the start of your rental outlining the requirement

Does my car charge on all available chargers?

Not every car is compatible with every charger. The charging section on the app will guide you to the nearest compatible chargers. You can also reach out 24/7 to the support team via the chat button on the app if you need assistance

Do you need a smartphone and the app in order to use UFODRIVE?

Yes.

Do you have a Telsa X or another 7-seater option?

We are sorry but we don't have any 7-seater options available for the moment.

Do you have a referral program? Can I refer a friend?

Yes, when you refer a friend from the app, your friend can get €30 off their first booking and you'll get €30 when they complete their first rental.

Do I need to pay for electric charging?

No, any kilometers/miles purchased includes the cost of charging along your route. You can charge directly at Tesla superchargers (for Tesla Vehicles) or also at 3rd party chargers using the charging card included with your car

Do you have a loyalty program?

Yes, every customer will earn loyalty credits at the completion of a rental. These credits can be redeemed like cash on your next booking.

Do the cars have the Swiss Motorway sticker (40 CHF) ?

This is not included and will need to be purchased by the renter.

Do I need to create an account?

You can make a booking without creating an account. However, in order to drive one of our cars, you have to register for an account in the app and upload your license info.

Are cars equipped with Isofix feature?

Yes.

Do I need to inspect the car at the start of my rental?

Yes, at the start and end of your rental. You will need to take 6 photos of the vehicle via the "vehicle inspection" tab in the app.

Do I need to have the credit card I used to book with me when picking up the car?

Your credit card details are stored in the payment section of the app so it is not mandatory to have the physical card with you when starting the rental

Can the additional drivers unlock and lock the car with their phone?

By default at start of rental, the virtual key is downloaded to the phone of the main driver. Once rental has started additional drivers may also download the virtual key. Only one device at a time can have an active virtual key.

Can I use a debit card?

Credit cards are preferred but depending on provider, debit cards may also be accepted.

Can I drop the car off at a different place from pick up?

No, your vehicle must be returned to the same location from where you started.

Can I drive to another EU country?

Yes, cross border travel to other EU countries is permitted across continental Europe

Can I drive from Ireland to the UK via the ferry from Dublin port?

No, rentals originating in Ireland must remain on the Island of Ireland. Driving to Northern Ireland is permitted.

Are UFODRIVE cars accepted in the 'LEZ' (low emission zone) of Brussels?

Yes

Can I add a second driver after I have picked up the car?

No, additional drivers must be added prior to starting the rental

Are toll fees included in the rental?

Depending on where you are, tolls may be included. Please refer to this list:

Germany: Tolls, Tunnels, Ferry’s etc. are not included.
Austria: The Austrian cars are equipped with a Vignette (Pickerl) to use Highways in Austria, however other tolls, tunnels, or ferries that are not included in the Vignette and need to be paid by customers individually.
Spain: Tolls, tunnels, ferries are not covered.
UK: Only London congestion zone is covered. No other tolls, tunnels or ferries are covered.
Ireland: Tolls and tunnels are included. Ferries are not included.
Belgium/Netherlands/Luxembourg/ France: No tolls, tunnels, or ferries are covered.
USA: Tolls and tunnels are included; ferries are not included. Please be aware of local restrictions. You are responsible for using unrestricted or high occupancy lanes. Cash only tolls are excluded and the responsibility of the driver.

Can I book outside of normal operating hours?

Yes, UFODRIVE is a 24/7 rental service. You can book and access your vehicle at any time via our app.

Are dogs allowed in your cars?

No pets are allowed in the cars.
